Broken Bones PDF Print
broken legs, broken bone lovebirdShould your lovebirds crash into a wall, break a wing, or break a leg, you will need immediate veterinarian care. Put your lovebird into the makeshift brooder because it will be more comfortable there and less likely to fall again and reinjure itself. Never let a frightened lovebird have free flight in your house. A crash into a wall can break the lovebird's neck or cause hemorrhaging in the brain. Broken legs can be a challenge to treat because most parrots will spend the majority of their day trying to remove the cast. Expect to revisit the veterinarian a few times while the leg heals. You should never ignore a possibly broken bone because it could set improperly and have a permanent, crippling effect on your lovebird.
